Why 6 inches is the most used length

6″ is the balance between control and reach: it cuts medium sections in one pass, follows perimeters and stays precise in the details. That is why it is often a hairdresser's first professional pair and the standard length for toothed shears. If you cut women's and men's hair, wet and dry, a 6″ covers most of your daily work.

6 inch cutting scissors: TL PRO or TK MASTER?

The 6″ TL PRO has a straight handle and a fine tip: the versatile pair for outlines, wet cutting and finishing. The 6″ TK MASTER has a very flat blade designed for geometric shapes and clean lines. Both are in steel and also available in 5.5″ (see the 5.5 inch scissors).

6 inch thinning and texturizing shears

All TOUCH toothed shears are 6″. DENTATA FLOW and TEU630 PRO are two 30-tooth thinning shears with a semi-offset handle and ball bearing, for removing bulk and lightening heavy hair. The double-tooth TUX625 ELITE is for texture, blending and seamless transitions. To find out which suits you, read thinning shears or texturizing shears and see all the professional thinning shears.

When to choose a different length

If you do a lot of slide cutting on long hair, fades or scissor over comb, a 6.5 inch or 6.8 and 7 inch blade covers more. If you mainly work on detailing, consider 5.5″. The TOUCH Cutting system combines several lengths and functions in one kit.

Sharpening and guarantee

Cutting scissors and toothed shears are sharpened differently: the TOUCH sharpening and maintenance service respects the original geometry of convex, flat and toothed blades. Legal guarantee of conformity under the law of your country for consumers (12 months for business purchases with a VAT number) and a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.

TOUCH was founded in 2012 by a group of professional hairdressers: if you are unsure which pair to choose, contact us for personal advice.

Frequently asked questions

Which scissors are in the 6-inch collection?
Two cutting scissors, TL PRO and TK MASTER in the 6″ size, and three 6″ toothed shears: DENTATA FLOW and TEU630 PRO, two 30-tooth thinning shears for removing bulk, and the double-tooth TUX625 ELITE for texture and blending.
How long are 6 inch hairdressing scissors?
About 15 cm in total length. It is the most versatile length, suitable for medium sections as well as detailing.
Are 6 inch scissors a good first pair?
Yes: they are often a hairdresser's first professional pair because they cover most salon work. The 6″ TL PRO is a versatile choice for everyday cutting.
Are TOUCH toothed shears 6 inches?
Yes: DENTATA FLOW, TEU630 PRO (two 30-tooth thinning shears) and the double-tooth TUX625 ELITE are all 6″.
Is 6 or 6.5 inches better?
6″ is more agile for detailing; 6.5″ covers longer sections and suits slide cutting and fades. Many hairdressers use both for different jobs.
