Why 6 inches is the most used length

6″ is the balance between control and reach: it cuts medium sections in one pass, follows perimeters and stays precise in the details. That is why it is often a hairdresser's first professional pair and the standard length for toothed shears. If you cut women's and men's hair, wet and dry, a 6″ covers most of your daily work.

6 inch cutting scissors: ELLE PRO Cut or TK Master?

The 6″ ELLE PRO Cut has a straight handle and a fine tip: the versatile pair for outlines, wet cutting and finishing. The 6″ TK Master has a very flat blade designed for geometric shapes and clean lines. Both are in 440C steel and also available in 5.5″ (see the 5.5 inch scissors).

6 inch thinning and texturizing shears

All TOUCH toothed shears are 6″. DENTATA FLOW and DENTATA PRO CUT are two 30-tooth thinning shears in 440C with a semi-offset handle and ball bearing, for removing bulk and lightening heavy hair. The double-tooth Suprema in VG10 is for texture, blending and seamless transitions. To find out which suits you, read thinning shears or texturizing shears and see all the professional thinning shears.

When to choose a different length

If you do a lot of slide cutting on long hair, fades or scissor over comb, a 6.5 inch or 6.8 and 7 inch blade covers more. If you mainly work on detailing, consider 5.5″. The TOUCH Cutting system combines several lengths and functions in one kit; the price shown is the sum of the individual scissors: request a quote for the System and we will offer you our reserved terms.
