Thinning shears or texturizing shears?
The first question is how much hair you want to remove. 30-tooth thinning shears remove a lot of hair with every close: they reduce bulk and lighten thick hair. Double-tooth texturizing shears remove less and more gradually: they blend, soften and add movement without leaving marks. In the salon both are often used, for two different stages of the cut.

DENTATA FLOW and DENTATA PRO CUT: two 30-tooth thinning shears
DENTATA FLOW and DENTATA PRO CUT are two 6″ thinning shears in 440C steel, with 30 teeth, a semi-offset handle and ball bearing: both designed to remove bulk, lighten heavy hair and create movement without losing length. They suit normal to thick hair and anyone who works on many clients a day.
Suprema: double-tooth texturizing shears
The Suprema is a double-tooth texturizing shear in Japanese VG10 steel: it is dedicated to blending, transitions and progressive lightening, building a soft texture with no visible lines. How to use toothed shears
Work on combed hair with thin sections, opening and closing the shears without sliding: to thin out, go in at mid-length; to texturize, work on the ends. Do not use toothed shears near the root on fine hair. Toothed shears do not replace cutting scissors: they are paired with a precision pair such as ELLE PRO Cut or TK Master.
