Care and maintenance of scissors
Keeping your scissors clean and well-maintained prolongs their overall lifespan and ensures optimal performance.
Hairdressing scissors must be kept clean and carefully maintained to prolong the life of the sharp edges and their overall durability.
It is inevitable that hairdressing scissors are constantly in contact with hair, but in addition to this, they can come into contact with chemicals, as well as dust and dirt; it can also happen that other accidental contact with the blade edges could damage the cutting edges.
Continued use of unclean or damaged scissors will accelerate blade deterioration.
Store your professional scissors properly.
WHAT TO DO
1. Clean and lubricate the scissors at the end of each workday.
2. Check the scissors for adjustment (tension) at least once a day.
3. Check for chips or other damage if dropped. If you see damage, set them aside immediately and call the service center: continuing to cut with damaged scissors will cause further damage.
4. Store and transport the scissors in a case, or purchase a good quality case for scissor protection.
WHAT NOT TO DO
1. Do not use scissors on hair when they are out of balance, do not have the correct tension, or are damaged by a fall.
2. Do not store dirty scissors.
3. Do not "abandon" scissors in a drawer when not in use.
4. Avoid swapping hairdressing scissors with colleagues.
5. Avoid contact with perms or colorings, which can cause corrosive damage to the blade.
